Tommy Bowe’s Bodycheck has made the shortlist in the sport category of the prestigious Celtic Media Festival Awards 2014. The sports science documentary aired on RTE One and was supported by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland’s Sound and Vision Fund. The show was a huge ratings success achieving an average audience share of 31.5 percent and half a million viewers peak when it aired in 2013.
The documentary provided a unique insight into what it takes to rise to the top of the modern game of professional rugby and explored the science and physiology of Ireland and Ulster winger Tommy Bowe.
The Celtic Media Festival is a three-day event that aims to promote the languages and cultures of Celtic countries on screen and in broadcasting.
